Hallo zusammen,
wir werden am Sonntag den 17. Juni 2001 die GV von trash.net
abhalten. Die GV wird hoechstwahrscheinlich in Zuerich stattfinden. Neu
moechten wir aber an der GV auch ein Begleitprogramm anbieten. Konkret
heisst dies, dass wir vorher noch einige Seminare durchfuehren
moechten. Wir moechten euch nun Fragen, was fuer Seminare vor der GV
stattfinden sollten. Prinzipell denken wir an Vortraegen mit Themen die
uns alle interessieren. Wer von euch hat also Ideen, Wuensche oder ist
sogar bereit einen eigenes Seminar anzubieten?
Wir denke wir koennten dies ueber die talk(at)trash.net-Liste diskutieren.

Hallo zusammen
Seit ca einer Woche hat die Homepage von trash.net ein neues
Highlight. Ich habe die Tour www.trash.net/tour aufgesetzt. Es war
lange nichts unter diesem Link zu finden, was sich nun geändert hat.
Falls du noch Ideen hast, welche Seiten unbedingt auch noch gezeigt
werden sollten, schreibe es mir einfach. Ich werde dann schauen, ob
deine Idee ins Konzept der Tour passt.

Talk by Richard Stallmann

Our guest-speaker Richard Stallman (Free Software Foundation) will
talk about
"The Free Software Movement and the GNU/Linux Operating System"
He will also address the current issues concerning software patents.
Richard Stallman is the founder of the GNU Project, launched in 1984
to develop the free operating system GNU (an acronym for ``GNU's Not
Unix'').
Stallman is the principal author of the GNU C Compiler, a portable
optimizing compiler which was designed to support diverse
architectures and multiple languages. The compiler now supports over
30 different architectures and 7 programming languages.
Stallman also wrote the GNU symbolic debugger (GDB), GNU Emacs, and
various other GNU programs.
First Swiss Opensource Competition
==================================
The winners of the "First Swiss Opensource Competition" will be
announced during the event and their projects will be presented.
The competition was organized by the IT Support Group of the
Departement of Electrical Engineering of ETH Zurich together with the
Swiss Open System User Group, /ch/open.
Reception
=========
A reception will follow the event at 18:00 in front of the Audimax of
ETH Zurich. The reception is sponsored by Sun Microsystems
Switzerland.
